Privacy Policy

Eved (“the Service”) is operated by Exhort Technologies, LLC (“we,” “us”) and is provided for use by the United Church of God, an International Association (“UCG”), its ministry, and invited members. This policy explains what information the Service collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. Name, email address, username, roles, and — where applicable — the speaker name linking your account to sermons in the archive.
Content you create. Sermon drafts, notes, questions you ask the assistant, chat history, and documents you or your administrators upload to the knowledge base.
Sermon archive data. Sermon recordings, transcripts, and derived analytics (pacing, structure, summaries) supplied by UCG for ministry use.
Usage and technical data. Sign-in events, pages visited, and error reports (which may include the page you were on when an error occurred). We use session cookies to keep you signed in; we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use information

To provide the Service: preparation tools, search, coaching feedback, and grounded AI assistance built from UCG's own teaching content.
To generate AI responses. Excerpts of trusted church content, and the questions or draft context you provide, are processed by our AI service providers solely to produce answers for you. The Service is designed to answer only from approved church content.
To send transactional email (account verification, password resets, notifications).
To secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.

Service providers

We share data with a small number of processors only as needed to run the Service: AI inference providers that process content excerpts and prompts to generate responses, an email delivery provider for transactional mail, and hosting infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your content to train third-party AI models.

Retention and deletion

Account data and content you create are retained while your account is active. When an account is disabled or deleted, associated personal content is removed from the active system and expires from routine backups on a rolling basis. Sermon archive materials belong to UCG and are retained at its direction. To request deletion, contact your administrator or us at the address below.

Security

Access is restricted by role-based permissions, passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing, and connections to the Service are encrypted in transit.

Children

The Service is intended for adults serving in ministry roles and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
